Our Collection

The library has over 11,000 volumes which can be searched via our online catalog. Additionally, the library maintains subscriptions to over 70 current art world periodicals, as well as subscriptions to auction catalogs from Sotheby's, Chrisite's, and Phillips.


Visit The Library

The Sotheby's Institute of Art New York Library is open for summer students Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m during their course enrollment. SIA online students may also visit the library by making an appointment with our library staff.

The library provides a free scanning station and scans can be emailed or saved to a USB drive. Our librarians are also pleased to provide reference services for students, in person, via email, or by phone. To schedule an appointment to visit the library or a reference session, please contact:
