JSTOR
As well as journal articles, JSTOR includes a vast number of images. These cover many time periods and cultures, and documents the fields of architecture, painting, sculpture, photography, decorative arts, design, and many other forms of visual culture. To begin, choose the Images tab:

 

Downloading and printing images from JSTOR
Choose the download icon. You can then print the downloaded image.

 

Bookmarking and organising images on JSTOR
First create a personal account after you have logged in, using the Register box on the top right hand corner of the screen. Then fill in the form that appears, using your SIA email address. To bookmark an image, hover over your chosen image and select the bookmark icon.

 

You can save the image to a general Workplace, or create folders for different selections of images.

 

Other databases with images

Grove Art Online: images
This scholarly reference work includes many images.  To find them, first run a search for your subject. On the results page, select Image in the left-hand column and then Update, as shown below: 

 

Art & Architecture Source: images
63,000 images, though size and quality are disappointing compared with JSTOR. To access the image collection, choose Images from the top menu.
