The photography section is organised as follows:

• PHO1 general histories, discussions and themes in photography
• PHO2 photography by century
• PHO3-PHO7 photography by country or area
• PHO8  individual photographers

You will also find some relevant books in the following areas:

• FIA2.20C fine art, 20th century. Relevant subsections include FIA2.20C.CON (conceptual art), FIA2.20C.GEND (gender in art) and FIA2.20C. INS (installation art)
• FIA.2.21C fine art, 21st century. Organised similarly to FIA2.20C
• FIA3 - FIA7 fine art by country or area. Books on recent art may include photography
• FIA8 individual artists, with many whose practice included photography e.g. Andy Warhol
• THE  theory. Many works here will be relevant, in addition to the photographic theory section at PHO1.THE.

 

Dissertations

• MA in Photography dissertations: the Institute offered an MA in Photography, in 2006-2016
• MAAB dissertations about the photography market
• MACA students have written on individual contemporary photographers and on artists who incorporate photography into a more eclectic practice
